The next event
22 May 2026
VIP Opening night
An evening of bubbles, live music, live painting and an auction of works by our featured artists: Gwyn Hughes and Renata Przynoga. Over 50 established and up-and-coming artists exhibit alongside those with intellectual disabilities. For people who are serious about buying art, this is the place to be.
Hōhepa Canterbury is a not-for-profit organisation and a leading care provider for people with intellectual disabilities. This unique exhibition is one of our main fundraisers of the year. The Art and Sculpture exhibition gives people with a disability the opportunity to exhibit alongside established and emerging artists.
People with intellectual disabilities, as well as those who are neurodivergent, regularly demonstrate extraordinary creativity, insight, and technical skill when given access to opportunity and support. The Turner Prize–winning artist, Nnena Kalu, who is on the autism spectrum, illustrates how unconventional ways of thinking can produce work of international significance. She powerfully challenges assumptions about who can be considered a “serious” artist and reminds us that artistic excellence comes in many forms.
