Kayla Hood

Kayla loves drawing, loves cartoons and loves her cat Luna. She is happiest when she is being creative. Zombies can also occasionally be found in her work, but not very often. She doesn't want to scare anyone too much! Kayla does most of her art practice at a community creative space called The White Room. Kayla has been exhibiting her works over 4 years and has had great success showing and selling her art. When Kayla is not doing art, she is a Special Olympics athlete winning two medals in 2025.

Andrew Hayward

Andrew is a non-sighted artist who uses his sensory experience of materials to produce his art. Moving paint with both hands in motions that express his experience in the moment Andrew's artworks are a reflection of his inner world. Andrew often paints directly onto a table top then takes a print onto canvas or paper, the touching of surfaces to create an impression of this experience speaks to Andrew's navigation of his world.

Carolyn Middleton

Carolyn explores the concept of flow. Carolyn tunes into enjoyment of the materials, her felt sense of being in the moment and "going with the flow."

Andrew Guild

Andrew has been doing Stone Carving at the Hoon Hay Community Centre since the beginning of 2026. He works with chiselling tools and a wooden hammer under the guidance of his staff Mohi and facilitator Eddie. Andrew lives at Hōhepa and has responsibilities as Stock Manager at Quartz Hill Station.

Terry Gibbons

Terry's paintings express his sense of connection to his environment at the Halswell Farm campus where he spends most of his days. Watching the tops of the trees against the changing skies, Terry finds a sense of peace that he recreates in his art time after time. Terry is also part of the Hōhepa Photography Group.

Chris Farrow

Chris happily blends his technical and creative interests with his photography, exploring different angles and ways of seeing and allowing his curiosity to guide what he will capture. Anne Blakeway

Ann exudes joy and has a real interest in capturing people and moments of connection. She uses her effortless sociability to interpret her world through her art form.

Henry King

Henry approaches each photography session with his very social nature and uses this to guide what he will photograph; for Henry, everything is worth capturing!

Adam Buxton

Adam has a keen way of seeing, he approaches each session with enthusiasm, kindness and a willingness to share ideas and the camera. "I like taking photos of the Botanical Gardens. My favourite thing about Hōhepa is my friends."
